Venue Host
For NDIS participants · Paid supported employment · Weekdays and Saturdays
The venue host is the first face people see when they walk into ESports Collective. The shift runs 3pm to 6.15pm, Monday to Friday. On Saturdays there are two shifts, 11.45am to 3pm and 3pm to 6.15pm.
Real work, shaped around you
Our Supported Work Program is genuine paid work, with support built in - for NDIS participants who are ready to build work skills, routine and confidence in a place they already know and love. We work alongside you at every step, at your own pace, and over time many participants take on more responsibility and build toward more independent employment.
As venue host you welcome people in, take payment for PC or console game time, and sell drinks and snacks. Some days are quiet, so you'll also help us build our Casual Gaming Program and Membership Program, so our PCs and consoles are regularly used by like minded people. We might take a walk up the high street and put posters in shops, and you can suggest new games we should install.
The role can be adapted as you need. If you're non-verbal, or you'd rather not speak, we can build scripts with our Speech Pathologist, and an AAC device or a communication card works here too. If crowds or noise are hard, we can start you on the quieter shifts and build up. If you'd rather watch first, we'll model the task and prompt you until you're ready to have a go. Nothing here is fixed. Tell us what gets in the way and we'll sort it out with you.
This role is delivered through our Supported Work Program. Your wages are paid by the business. Your support on shift is funded through your NDIS plan. They're two separate things.
