Gaming is what brings young people through the door
We use gaming as a gateway. It's what brings young people through the door: the shared interest, the high-end technology they don't have at home, the community they're looking for. What happens once they're here depends entirely on what each person needs.
Some come for casual gaming and find their people. Some access NDIS supports embedded in a space they've chosen to be part of. Some build skills, some build friendships, some build careers - all in the same room.

What is support without segregation?
Support without segregation means disability support happens in the open - alongside the community, not separated from it.
ESports Collective is designed with neurodivergent people in mind, but it's a space for everyone. NDIS participants access support here. So do young people who just want to game with mates, join a tournament, or find their people. The difference is that when someone needs more, it's already here - embedded in a space they've chosen to be part of, not one they've been sent to.
How does the model spread from Bairnsdale?
The blueprint is simple, and that's the point.
Start with the space
Start with a space young people want to be in - a real venue with real equipment, not a program room.
Build around interest
Build programming around their genuine interests, so engagement is never the battle.
Design for everyone
Welcome everyone while designing specifically for neurodivergent people - that's how genuine regional inclusion works.
Partner with allied health
Partner with allied health professionals who see the value in meeting young people where they are.
Questions we hear most about the vision
The model, explained straight.
What is ESports Collective's vision?
To prove a new model for regional Australia: a gaming-based community hub where disability support happens in the open, alongside the community - and to replicate that blueprint throughout Gippsland and beyond. Every regional community deserves a space like this.
What does support without segregation mean?
It means NDIS support is embedded in a community space everyone uses, rather than delivered behind closed doors. Participants are supported in a place they've chosen to be part of, not one they've been sent to.
Is ESports Collective only for neurodivergent young people?
No - the space is designed with neurodivergent people in mind but open to everyone. Casual gamers, D&D players, families and older adults all share the same venue and the same community.
Will the model expand beyond Bairnsdale?
That's the plan. We're proving it works in Bairnsdale and we're committed to replicating it throughout Gippsland and beyond.
