Tech Care
For NDIS participants · Paid supported employment · One shift a week, Monday to Friday
Genuine paid work, with support built in - for NDIS participants who like tech and want to build work skills, routine and confidence in a place they already know and love.
This is the shift that keeps the gaming floor running. You get in before the doors open, run the updates, clean the gear and check every station works, so nobody's game time gets interrupted.
Real work, shaped around you
Our Supported Work Program creates real, paid roles alongside our team. It's not a work-experience placement or a token task - it's a genuine job, built around what you're good at and what you enjoy.
Tech Care is one shift a week, before the venue opens. You work through a checklist: updates, cleaning, testing and tidying, then you write up anything that needs fixing. You never open up hardware or change settings that aren't on the checklist - you log it and tell someone.
We work alongside you at every step, at your own pace. Over time, many participants take on more responsibility and build toward more independent employment.
This role is delivered through our Supported Work Program. Your wages are paid by the business. Your support on shift is funded through your NDIS plan. They're two separate things.
What you'll do, the skills you'll build, and who we're looking for
What you'll do
- Run Windows updates on each PC and restart when needed, update Steam and the other launchers, and download game patches
- Run system updates on the consoles, and check games are logged in to the venue accounts and ready to play
- Wipe down controllers, keyboards, mice and headsets, clean screens with the right cloth and spray, and wipe the sim rig wheels, pedals and seats
- Clean headset ear pads and swap them out when they're worn
- Turn on each station, test the controllers, headsets, keyboards and mice, and check the internet is working on each PC and console
- Charge controller batteries, swap any that won't hold a charge, tie back cables so nothing is a trip hazard, and put spares back in the tech cupboard
- Clear out old downloads and temporary files without touching anyone's game saves, and write any faults in the tech log
Skills you'll build
- Being punctual for an early start before opening
- Following a set routine for getting the venue ready
- Working through a checklist and staying on task
- IT basics and simple troubleshooting
- Working to standard, so every station is clean and ready
- Reporting problems clearly in the tech log
- Taking feedback and building on it
Who we're looking for
- NDIS participants looking for a supported step into employment
- People who like tech and enjoy getting the small details right
- People who are happy working through a checklist, start to finish
- Someone who speaks up about a problem instead of trying to force a fix
- No résumé or interview needed to start the conversation
