Competition Host
For NDIS participants · Paid supported employment · Friday nights or Saturdays from 6pm
You pick the game. You bring like minded people together to play it. It could be a league every week, or a bigger tournament each month or quarter, and that's yours to define.
Friday nights and Saturdays suit this kind of event best. This is your chance to fill one, with someone alongside you while you learn the job.
Your game, your event
This is a job, not a chance to play. You run a league or a tournament for a game you know well. You might get a game in now and then, but that is not what the shift is for.
There are two parts to it. First you work out how the event will run. You pick the game, the format, how many players, how long a match takes, and whether it is a league every week or a tournament each month or quarter. Nothing is locked in, so you decide it and we help you get it right.
Then you run it. You set the room up before players arrive, sign people in, start matches on time, keep the brackets up to date, fix problems as they come up, and pack down at the end.
You are the person players come to with questions, so you will be talking to people for most of the shift.
Friday nights and Saturdays suit this kind of event best, so that's when you run it. Start small with one night and grow it if you want to.
You won't be on your own. Someone is on shift with you to plan it, set up with you, prompt when you need it and step back as you get the hang of it.
The skills you build here carry into other jobs: turning up on time, following a routine, talking with customers and sorting problems out on the spot.
This role is delivered through our Supported Work Program. Your wages are paid by the business. Your support on shift is funded through your NDIS plan. They're two separate things.
