Support Worker – Dog Walking Micro-Enterprise
Casual, flexible hours · Traralgon & surrounds · A love of dogs is a must
Work alongside one of our clients as they build and run their very own dog walking micro-enterprise - out in the fresh air, on their feet, and doing something they genuinely love.
What this role is about
This is a one-to-one support role built around one of our Traralgon clients and their dog walking micro-enterprise - a real, participant-owned little business, walking dogs around the local neighbourhood.
Your job is to walk beside them, not in front of them. You'll help them turn something they love into a routine, a bit of income and a growing sense of pride, doing the parts they want a hand with while they stay firmly in charge. It's their enterprise - you're there to make it possible.
What you'll do, and who we're looking for
What you'll do
- Support our client to plan and run their dog walking rounds across Traralgon and surrounds
- Be a steady, encouraging presence on the walks - safe, confident and calm around dogs
- Help with the behind-the-scenes bits: bookings, routes, gear and building relationships with dog owners
- Back them to build skills, confidence and independence, doing more of it themselves over time
Who we're looking for
- A genuine love of dogs - this one really is a must
- Warmth, patience and the ability to meet someone exactly where they are
- Happy to be active and outdoors in all weather, walking for a good part of the day
- A valid Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check - both required, and we can help you arrange them
- Lived experience of neurodivergence or disability is valued; formal experience and qualifications are welcome, but not essential
Sound like you?
There's no formal application to start. Fill in the short form and tell us a bit about yourself and your love of dogs - send your CV too if you have one ready, but you don't need one.
