What this role is about
As a Peer Support Worker, you'll help young people build confidence and connection through gaming, D&D and shared interests, in a space that doesn't feel clinical because it isn't one.
Most of our team are neurodivergent themselves or have close lived experience of disability through family. That's not a nice-to-have, it's the whole idea. You'll support people without ever making them feel like they need supporting.
What you'll do, and who we're looking for
What you'll do
- Run and support small-group and 1:1 sessions built around gaming and shared interests
- Help young people settle in, find their people and feel at home
- Be a consistent, familiar presence at the hub and out in the community
- Work alongside the team to keep sessions safe, welcoming and genuinely fun
Who we're looking for
- Lived experience of neurodivergence or disability, your own or through family
- A genuine love of games and the culture around them
- Patience, warmth, and the ability to meet people exactly where they are
- Formal experience and qualifications are welcome, but not essential
Good to know
Type: Casual, moving to part-time after 6 months. Where: Our Bairnsdale hub and across East Gippsland. Checks: Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, which we can help you get. Experience: Welcome, but not essential - attitude matters most.
